Pranayama deserves a careful home
pranayam.yoga is being built as a bilingual, safety-first reference where classical context, modern evidence, and runnable practice can sit together without being confused for one another.
Our mission
We want a newcomer to find a gentle first breath, a serious practitioner to trace a textual claim, and a teacher or clinician to see exactly where our certainty ends.
The project is India-first and bilingual by design. Sanskrit remains visible in Devanagari and IAST, while safety guidance is written plainly enough to act on.
Editorial and evidence methodology
Every claim is assigned to the strongest category its source can support. Traditional authority and clinical evidence answer different questions, so we do not merge them.
Traditional
What a named text or lineage says. This records tradition; it is not a biomedical conclusion.
Mechanistic
A plausible physiological process or measured short-term response. Plausibility alone does not prove a health outcome.
Observational
An association observed without strong control over alternative explanations.
Preliminary clinical
An early human study or small controlled trial that needs replication and stronger design.
Clinical
Consistent, relevant evidence from robust human research. We use this label sparingly and never turn it into a cure claim.
Human review before a reviewed label
Health and safety content is not marked reviewed until a suitably qualified person has checked the technique, cautions, claims, sources, and translation. Automated tools may assist drafting or consistency checks, but they do not count as clinical or teaching review.
Every reviewed page should publish the reviewer’s name, relevant credentials, scope, and review date. If that information is missing, the page remains a draft.
Corrections policy
Substantive corrections should update the page, its review date, and any affected translations. We distinguish factual corrections from reasonable lineage differences.
Until a public corrections inbox and changelog are launched, correction requests are tracked internally. This is an operational placeholder, not a claim that a complete public process already exists.
Authors and reviewers
These profiles are intentionally explicit placeholders. No credential has been invented, and no unnamed expert review is implied.
Author

Why so many pages say “draft”
Draft is a safety feature, not a cosmetic status. It tells you that sources may be real and the writing may be careful, but the promised qualified human review has not yet happened.
We would rather show uncertainty than borrow authority from a future reviewer.
